"During my second trimester of pregnancy, the doctors told me my daughter would not survive more than a few weeks after birth because of a heart condition, (hypoplastic heart syndrome). The only options, aside from terminating the late pregnancy, were a series of three reconstructive surgeries or a heart transplant after birth.

I came to Lania with a desperate desire to heal my baby while she was still in the womb and safe. Lania approached the work as a whole-person and whole-family healing. I explored where my heart was broken, and where our individual and collective hearts were damaged by generations of relationships that divided and wounded us. And I came to see the wonderful opportunity my new baby had brought for us to heal these wounds and heal our own hearts.

My daughter's physical heart did not heal before she was born, but through our work with Lania, my baby girl survived her birth and stayed strong enough to mature for four months before the surgery. 

Leah had a heart transplant when she was four-and-a-half months old and has been thriving ever since. Lania was there in spirit during the surgery and in the recovery period that followed. The surgery was flawless and her recovery was much faster than expected. She was out of the hospital in five days. The doctors have been constantly amazed at how good her health was before and after the transplant.

Even though my initial prayer to heal my baby Leah's heart before birth was not answered, I believe with Lania's help, the hearts of everyone in our family were healed during this process. And we have all now accepted that Leah is traveling the healing path that is her destiny. Lania helped us to transform a tragic situation into a profound gift of love."
