About Lania Desmond

As a child, Lania often communicated with otherworldly beings she thought of as her little friends. At times she was given guidance about what was missing in people’s lives and if they had that, then their lives would change for the better. Eventually she discovered these beings had come to help her to make the most of her unique abilities.
Innocent Repercussions
Once, while standing in a grocery store checkout line with her mom, Lania “knew” that the woman ahead of them was consumed with sorrow because she could not bear children. She was struggling with the idea of adoption. Lania knew that if this woman chose to adopt, her life would blossom. So, Lania tugged at the lady’s dress, looked up into her eyes and said in a whisper, “You’re going to be happy when you adopt your child.”
The woman’s face turned red and she sputtered, “How did you know I . . .?” Lania didn’t understand completely, but like many times before, she could see that something happened at that moment, and the woman’s distress over the decision melted away. Lania saw this lady would adopt a child and her life would take on a wonderful richness.
Unfortunately, Lania’s mother did not appreciate her daughter’s gifts and did her best to destroy them, almost killing Lania in the process. Her mother’s worst punishment was to often force Lania to eat Tide detergent. It became more and more difficult for Lania to eat food as the acidic compound burned away the lining of her intestinal tract. Her mother’s extreme tactics worked. Lania soon learned to turn her back on her gifts.
Death’s Doorstep 1971
Years of abuse caught up with Lania when she was 19 years old and weighed a mere 76 pounds. Diagnosed with end-stage ulcerative colitis, her doctors sent her home to die. In her first near-death experience, Lania realized she needed to return to her body to complete her life’s purpose. This was the first of many near-death experiences where she was given detailed information by her otherworldly beings on how to heal her ulcerative colitis. Following their lead, she emerged physically whole in four short years. In 1975 her son Jon was born – see article “Let No One Steal Your Destiny”.
Slow Process to Wholeness
It took many more years for Lania to resolve the emotional issues surrounding her childhood abuse. During these years of transition, she began once again to recognize and accept her unique gifts and intuitive abilities.
While living in Hawaii, in 1982, Lania started doing readings professionally for the first time. Over the next two years, these consultations gradually developed into the process now known as EssenceWorkTM.
Although Lania continued to work intensively over several years on her old issues, her dysfunctional childhood programs were still running her life. One day in 1996, frustrated with hardship and lack, she looked up to the heavens and screamed, "I'm willing to learn my lessons, but why can't I do it by having more good in my life instead of all this hardship?" Two days later, her plea was answered. Late that night, a brilliant, shimmering light appeared to Lania. There before her stood a radiant being, a beautiful angelic presence.
Without speaking, the angel embraced her, and before she knew it, Lania was melting into her. As images entered her heart, Lania was shown her own magnificence, and how she was so loved and cherished. Within moments Lania’s heart seemed to become bigger than she was. Then her body disappeared, as she melted into the angel, into the room, then within the air, with everything, becoming everything.
After that experience, Lania was a changed person. For the next several weeks, a lovely flower might make her cry or laugh. Colors were brighter. Music made her soar. Problems seemed unimportant and resolved themselves quickly.
The Accident
A couple of months later, Lania was riding in a car in NYC with a friend when they became lost in Harlem. The traffic came to a stop. Soon angry people were trying the door handles and walking on the car. Panic spread through Lania’s limbs. She closed her eyes and screamed in her mind, “Protect me and mine!” over and over like a mantra. Within moments, the menacing people left, and the two friends sped away to safety. Lania took a few deep breaths to calm down. Though out of danger, she could feel that something was still very wrong.
Two days later she learned her son had a near fatal accident while Lania was in Harlem. Stunned, she realized how her call for Divine Intervention in Harlem had also saved her son's life. Suddenly, Lania was able to surrender her years of abuse. The old programs of her childhood no longer mattered. She finally recognized and acknowledged her own divinity, and how loved she was. Finally, Lania was able to see the different aspects of the loving environment that had always surrounded her. These individual aspects then joined to create the Ultimate Reality that she calls SoulPoint - the love Lania had been searching for all her life!
It took Lania several weeks to integrate the delicate array of nuances involved in each aspect of the SoulPoint process. But then when Lania used this newly developed process with her son two months after his accident, he experienced a major shift in his consciousness. To her delight, this greatly accelerated his physical healing. People were astounded as tissue and bones began to mend within days. Doctors had predicted a six- to nine-month recovery. Instead, her son was well within three months. From this experience, Lania now understood precisely how to use her abilities to help others.

Today
Lania is living a life filled with wonder and simple elegance. She lives in the middle of a forest overlooking distant mountains and glorious sunsets she watches from her front deck. She is married to a man she adores, who nurtures and supports her zest for living life to its fullest.
Lania has a unique ability to clearly and instantly know what’s missing in people’s lives that, once returned, can bring them true happiness.
Through SoulPoint, she uses this ability to lead a client to a deep place of understanding of a specific topic. Her terrific sense of humor, gentle guidance and frequent use of analogies to illustrate key points are very important elements in the process. The results often unfold over weeks and months, opening the floodgates to happiness and prosperity.
In addition, when working with clients using EssenceWork, she is continually amazed at how easily and effortlessly the underlying causes of stubborn issues simply lift off. Lania has traveled worldwide sharing the wisdom of SoulPoint and EssenceWork, giving interviews on radio and TV as well as publishing numerous articles. In the book Cosmic Cradle, a chapter, titled “Overcoming Spiritual Amnesia,” gives an overview of Lania’s life and work. She has also been a guest speaker at many health and wellness expos and functions, talking on diverse subjects — from dysfunctional relationships to energy work.
For those who have yet to find the answers they seek, Lania offers her services as a spiritual guide and mentor. Her greatest passion when working with people is watching how they come to life, hearing their excitement at discovering their newfound freedoms, and knowing that as their reality shifts they are blossoming from a seemingly limited world of black and white into the expansive world of Technicolor.
This is why Lania chose to remain in her body. Her main reason for doing the work she does is because it’s fun to take part in people waking up and manifesting their true desires and creating deeper meaning in their lives. Lania's main reason for living is to experience more love than she has ever known. So far she’s right on track!
